Joffrey Ballet Non-Dance Opportunity: 'This October The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago will be performing Romeo & Juliet, choreography by John Cranko music by Serge Prokoviev. We are looking for the following people to perform supernumerary roles in the Ballet:
13 Male Soldiers:
Approximately 6 feet tall, between the ages of 20 and 50.
Must be physically strong and agile.
Must have stage experience & be able to take direction.
Ballet training not necessary, but applicants must be able to count or follow music.
May have facial hair.
5 Women Peasants:
Approximately 5'2" to 5'7" in height, must be over 20 years of age.
Must have stage experience & be able to take direction.
Some basic Dance training requested. Applicants must be able to count or follow music.
5 Men Peasants:
Approximately 5'7" to 6'in height, must be over 20 years of age.
Must have stage experience & be able to take direction.
Some basic Dance training requested. Applicants must be able to count or follow music.
May have facial hair.
Auditions/ Placement/ Measurements & Costume Fittings Saturday, September 20th, 2003 @ Joffrey Rehearsal Studios: 218 South Wabash, 7th Floor (Yahoo Map).APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE for the following rehearsal & performance dates. (A more specific schedule will be handed out on Saturday September 20th at the audition)All Supernumeraries will be compensated $10 for each rehearsal and each performance. (applicants will not be compensated for Saturday September 27th).
