Bailiwick Not Closing, Entirely

Responding to rumors that Bailiwick Repertory, 1229 W. Belmont, was closing and that he had left town, founder and artistic director David Zak said that neither was true.

(from Windy City Times).

According to Zak, Jeremy Wechsler and Theatre Wit will take over the Bailiwick space at 1229 W. Belmont in the New Year.
I am very excited about the prospect of moving our programming into another more manageable venue, Zak continued. We are planning for Pride 2009 for summer, and have plans for other events elsewhere while we continue to search for a permanent space

(from chicagopride.com). Earlier this month Chris Jones wrote:

Zak also said that the Bailiwick Repertory Theatre, if not the arts center, will continue to exist, perhaps producing its long-running Pride Series at the Center on Halsted St.
I am ready for something better, Zak said

(from Chicago Tribune).
