Job: Asst/Assoc. Prof. of Theatre-Physical Theatre/Movement

Announcement for Position in The Theatre Conservatory,
Chicago College of Performing Arts,
Roosevelt University
Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre-Physical Theatre/Movement.
Tenure-track appointment, beginning August 15th 2007. The Theatre Conservatory, Chicago College of Performing Arts, seeks professional artist/educator with expertise to teach and coach physical theatre/movement and related skills for actors in theatre, as well as musical theatre programs, in a range of classes at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Previous professional theatre experience required; university-level experience preferred, with extensive experience in a well-articulated approach to teaching movement for actors. Expertise in related areas such as circus skills, mask-work, clowning, period/style movement,
etc., preferred. Professional directing and/or choreographic experience a plus.
Completed M.F.A. or doctoral degree at time of application is required. Exceptional professional qualifications considered in lieu of completed terminal degree or previous teaching experience. Candidates who are specialists in disciplines such as Laban, Feldenkrais, Alexander, etc., should hold certification in area(s) of expertise.
